Jay Bearfield, FoUNDER/ Lead Artist

Jay Bearfield is the lead artist and founder of Rock Art Studios, a stone studio housed in an old mill building within the historic Graniteville village of Westford, Massachusetts, a town once known for its granite quarrying in the Merrimack Valley, northwest of Boston. Continuing the tradition of artisan stone craft from his Italian ancestors, Jay has been working with stone for over twenty years, creating award winning water features, landscapes and stone art for the home and garden throughout New England.

By blending traditional stone carving and the ancient art of mosaics, his one-of-a-kind naturally inspired creations draw upon his love of nature, the elements of stone and water, and are influenced by his experiences with Japanese Culture, Buddhism and his regular backwoods mountain adventures. Using locally sourced and realized stone from around the New England area incorporating glass, stone, and other natural materials suitable for the New England environment, Jay strives to express his love and passions with each piece he creates.
